College Cooking Boot Camp – Day 2

The joy of summer is fading and colleges are abuzz with freshman entering into dorms or sophomores finding their first apartment.  Parents have provided just about everything that can, but have you thought about how they’ll be able to cook for themselves?

ITK Culinary has the class that will keep everyone fed well without breaking the budget or taking too much time.  Our class looks for people to prepare food 2x a week with minimal use of kitchen equipment and space.  The two day class starts with a shopping trip and we teach the group how to buy for one and be fed for a week.

Menu to include:

Roasted Chicken – The basis for the weeks worth of food.
Chicken Noodle Soup – Using the carcass is the best way to make sure there is no waste.
Chicken Taco with Guacamole and Pico de Gallo
Chicken and Mushroom Tetrazzini
Cashew Chicken Stir Fry

Potato – The recipes will be “Spud-tacular”
Mashed Potatoes
Potato Salad
Hash Browns

Meat Balls – Who doesnt like a good meatball?  Veggie meatballs too!
1/2 the meat – meatballs
Spaghetti and…
Sandwich

Veggies – Eat them and get better grades (from your parents)
Broccoli Soup
Steamed Broccoli
Tomato Bisque

Chocolate Chunk Cookies – Cmon….dessert is a must and we will teach how to make whipped cream.

This is a two day class with the first day meeting at Berkeley Bowl.  Class size is limited to 15 participants.  Class begins at 9am and ends 1pm each day.  Cost is $150 for both days.
